Maxine Haigh-White, Naturopathic Practitioner, Herbalist; Nutritionist & Educator

A Naturopath, Nutritionist and a passionate Herbalist with more than 14 years of clinical experience currently completing a Masters in Mental Health, past studies have included an Advanced Diploma in Western Herbal Medicine, a Bachelor in Western Herbal Medicine, an Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Medicine and I completed my Masters in Health Science in 2011 (UNE), blending traditional medicine and an evidence based medical model of science & research within the philosophy and application of Complementary Health Care.    My previous background has included events; advertising and marketing, working in the corporate sector with companies such as Leo Burnet Advertising (UK), UBS Phillips & Drew (UK) and the National Association Pension Funds (UK).  After moving to Australia in 1994, I became interested in studying within the natural therapy and complementary health sector, beginning a wonderful journey in motherhood, family and wellness.

Previously Department Head of Faculty for Herbal Medicine, a clinic supervisor and lecturer in Naturopathic Diagnosis; Herbal Medicine and Marketing your Business at Nature Care College in St Leonards.  I am a lecturer/speaker advocating the use of Kitchen Medicine; holding workshops in the community as well as instore   In January 2015 I had the privilege of presenting new and old concepts of untilising kitchen medicine to the Australian School Nurses Conference held in Sydney. As well as being the resident herbalist consultant for Cadence Health Education, I compiled the Herbal Remedy section for the Huggies Website.    With more than 30 years of experience of training in digital technology; within the corporate sector; more recently I developed a step by step training program for Mosman Community College, specifically targeting older people within the community sector to improve accessibility and understanding in software, social media and computer training.  I recently completed a Post Graduate Cert in eLearning Methodology (UNE); to improve the delivery and availability of distance education within the education sector.   In October 2015 I have joined the Northern Beaches Community College Computer education department.

Having been In clinical practice since 2001, my focus is on general family health, through the use of food as medicine as well as supplements and Herbal Medicine.  I firmly believe in the importance of empowering people by helping them to achieve and maintain better health, wellness and awareness of the body.  I am fortunate to be a busy mum to three young adults.    With a successful clinic, I founded an apothecary and health food store in Balgowlah Heights on Sydney's Northern Beaches - primarily to offer a local community service, so that the general public could pop in and have a good foundational access to both evidence based practice and solid natural therapies.  I currently hold membership in the following associations:

National Herbalists Association of Australia (member 154444),
Australian Traditional Medicine Society, Institute of Functional Medicine and the American Botanical Council.
